about

This piece is, in a way, the antithesis of Dia de Los Muertos. I acknowledge the death of everything in the universe as a memorial service rather than a celebration. I wanted something large and significant to represented here because I spend so much of my life hardly reflecting on what came before me, or those who die daily. I struggle at times to recognize their significance due to the sheer amount of things on this earth. While it is hard to qualify or quantify the significance of those who have passed away in my life, or those whom I will never know, or the ideas that are continuously generated, or the physical objects existing throughout the universe, they are still significant in their own right because they affect everything else. This is me acknowledging that the death of all things is important. It's a way to acknowledge that I don't have the human capacity to reflect upon all of it, so I built a memorial of sound to do so.
